Position Summary The Material Handler II supports the Distribution Lead and overall distribution operations by relocating, staging, loading, and unloading materials throughout the warehouse. This role works closely with internal teams and freight vendors to ensure materials are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Operate lift trucks with fork or pole attachments to move materials throughout the facility
Follow all standard operating procedures when transacting material movements
Coordinate loading and unloading of materials with the Distribution Lead, Material Lead, and Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Communicate order issues or discrepancies to appropriate team members
Verify lot numbers during loading and unloading processes
Assist with proper packaging of materials for shipment or storage
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Assist with inventory monitoring and accuracy
Qualifications Education & Experience
Minimum of 1 year of lift truck operation experience
Certified lift truck operator training required
Demonstrated mastery-level performance operating lift trucks
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and the general public
Ability to accept constructive feedback from supervisors and peers
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, warehouse orders, and procedure manuals
Mathematical Skills
Basic math skills required
Reasoning Ability
Ability to analyze and solve practical problems and adapt to changing situations
Supervisory Responsibilities
None
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed inside the Abutment Rd. Distribution facility
This is a fully onsite position; remote work is not available
Regular and predictable attendance is required
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods
Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, reach, and manipulate materials
Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Indirect Reports: Distribution Supervisor; Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Work Authorization
