Material Handler - Fabrication - 2nd Shift

Shift hours: 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and can be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $16.00 per hour. Salaries are a general guideline only and are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What You’ll Do
Use forklift or power equipment to move, store and stack materials, parts, or products.
Unload incoming materials from trailers and vehicles and transport items from staging areas to storage locations.
Maintain related documentation and verify received items against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, shortages or defects.
Operate an overhead crane or hoist only if certified, and assist in the movement of material.
Move or expedite material to the proper department and pull parts from storeroom for service center packing.
Use the KanBan system to order and replenish materials.
In This Function
Visually inspect for damaged material.
Safely and efficiently deliver materials to storeroom or point-of-use locations.
Notify internal customers of receipts and product markings, maintaining a working relationship.
Receive purchase orders in system and separate AML from non-AML material.
Sort and disperse returned material, keeping all documentation updated.
Unload trucks, check freight bills, and verify material against packing lists.
Pull parts from storeroom for service center packing, ensuring packaging meets standard to prevent loss or damage.
Process internal KanBan cards and assist in maintaining the Kanban system.
Qualifications Required (Basic)
A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Fayetteville, NC; active duty military service members are exempt from the geographic limitation.
Preferred
Experience in material handling in a manufacturing setting.
Experience operating a forklift in either stand‑up or sit‑down capacity.
Position Criteria
Effective communication skills with other departments to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
Flexibility to work in other departments as needed to meet customer and Eaton expectations.
Proficiency with AS400, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Vista.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to identify required parts and components.
Skill in using handheld scanners to track inventory in Shipping & Receiving.
