Job Title: Material Handler
Job Duration: 11 months on W2
Job Location: Branchburg NJ
Shift Timing: 2nd Shift Mon to Friday (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Job Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This role ensures accuracy in inventory and shipments, adheres to safety and regulatory standards, and supports efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving:
Inspect, verify quantities, and prioritize distribution of incoming goods against purchase orders or invoices. Deliver items to appropriate departments.
Storage & Inventory:
Operate material handling equipment to store, relocate, and consolidate materials. Perform regular inspections and cycle counts to ensure accuracy of lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates. Replenish stock and assist with material destruction as needed.
Picking & Packing:
Select, consolidate, and pack products per customer orders. Process returned goods according to established procedures.
Transporting & Delivery:
Transport materials within the facility. May operate a company vehicle for local pickup/delivery.
Shipping:
Load and unload trailers in compliance with DOT regulations. Complete and verify accuracy of shipping records.
Compliance & Safety:
Follow all corporate and regulatory safety procedures (OSHA, DOT, GMP) for handling materials, including hazardous goods. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Administration:
Utilize SAP for labeling, issuing goods, and inventory tracking. Maintain required logs and documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications Education & Experience:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Less than 1 year of experience in warehousing, distribution, or handling the receipt, storage, and delivery of goods.
Preferred Qualification Experience handling hazardous materials.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of receiving and inventory processes.
Skill in the proper handling and storage of goods and materials.
Familiarity with OSHA, IATA, DOT, GMP, and SAP is a plus.
Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift) as required.
Ability to work overtime as business needs require.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Role involves frequent lifting of heavy items and operating warehouse equipment.
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment, adhering to safety and cleanliness standards (GMP/OSHA).
Overtime and travel may be required based on business needs.
Note A valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.
