Job Overview Except for work performed by contractors, Maintenance Mechanics shall build, install and maintain buildings, machinery and equipment, excluding dies and fixtures.
A Day in the Life In performing the various skills of the trade, Maintenance Mechanics diagnose, correct, repair, and replace necessary parts. Responsibilities include painting, replacing hooks on racks, greasing, and occasional replacement of castings on lines in production.
Overtime Considerations
When major inspections and repairs of plater conveyors involve overtime, Maintenance Mechanics will be granted overtime unless the entire department is already working other overtime.
What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?
Must supply own hand tools.
Must be able to fabricate guards and chutes (sheet metal).
Understands, interprets electrical drawings and schematics.
Efficient in ARC, MIG, and TIG welding.
Capable of general plumbing (air and oil lines).
General machining (lathe, mill, etc.) a plus.
General rigging.
General working knowledge to read and understand software programs – a plus.
Read and understand calipers and micrometers.
Ability to work at extended heights.
