Position Purpose Primary responsibility is cleaning of the distribution center (75% of duties). Perform routine cleaning including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors; dusting, washing walls, doors, and windows, and emptying trash. Perform minor preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Assist service personnel as needed. Report major repair and maintenance needs. Assist with snow removal.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Ensure that you have all of the needed janitorial equipment.

Operate floor scrubber.

Sweep and vacuum dock plates.

Sweep and mop sanitation barriers.

Empty trash bins from all locations in the cooler, grocery and loading dock, offices and break areas.

Empty cardboard and plastic recycling and compact.

Keep all areas free of debris such as wood fragments, pallet wrap, labels, and paper.

Remove empty pallets, clean and mop slots.

Discard leaking product and record on the reconditioning log.

Report any violation of company policy to supervisor or lead.

Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.

Use good judgment as independent work may occur without direct supervision.

Required Knowledge

Understanding of safety guidelines.

Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers.

Experience Required

Warehouse/Operations experience preferred but not required.

Skills/Abilities

Understand procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.

Compensation UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
