Facility Maintenance Technician - Mechanical Trades Location:

Raleigh, NC

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm; with some overtime

Salary Range:

commensurate with experience ($35,099 - $74,402)

Essential Job Duties The position of Facilities Maintenance Technician is needed to make repairs and improvements at the various units at Lake Wheeler Road Field Lab, in addition to preventive maintenance and service. The position will be required to work on many different systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and minor carpentry work. Position also requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 60 to 90 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Other Responsibilities Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.

Minimum Experience / Education High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification(s). Optional Guidelines: Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to climb and on roofs or in a forklift basket.

Experience in the trade fields, preferably electrical and/ or plumbing experience.

Ability to operate a backhoe, trencher, forklift, and dump truck.

Experience in building or renovations.

Required License or Certification

A valid Driver’s License and the ability to obtain an NC Driver’s License within 60 days of hire, must be maintained throughout employment.
