Job Summary
Material Handler 2nd shift at thyssenkrupp Materials NA.
Responsible for moving raw materials, finished products, and equipment using forklift, cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other equipment. Works under direct supervision and handles basic issues and problems.
Key Accountabilities
Accurately removes and stocks product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.
Accurately selects product to fill customer orders and packages properly.
Loads and unloads trucks and verifies that correct items are loaded and unloaded.
Picking, processing, and packing orders; may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
Completes cycle counts.
Identifies, holds, and segregates defective material.
Completes paperwork per work instructions, when required.
Performs general clean up.
Inspects forklift at the beginning of every shift; reports issues.
Participates, supports, and complies with all health, safety, ISO, and 6S initiatives and requirements.
Assists in any other duties to support the operation as requested by supervisor or team lead.
Works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma/GED
Ability to read and write English; in Quebec, must read and write French.
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet.
Basic math skills.
Previous forklift experience.
Must be able to sit for long periods, bend, twist, squat, reach, and grasp motions.
Safety mindset.
Preferred Requirements:
Use of handheld measuring tools.
Basic computer skills and knowledge (e.g., database programs, Microsoft Office).
