Position Overview The Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a critical role in ensuring that all garments, materials, and finished goods move accurately and efficiently through the Flooded Screen Prints production cycle. This position is responsible for receiving incoming shipments, preparing and organizing jobs for production, maintaining inventory accuracy, executing quality control, and shipping completed orders on schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving Packages:
Accept and sign for incoming packages from UPS, FedEx, USPS, and freight deliveries.
Verify package counts and ensure all boxes are accounted for.
Inspect packages for damage and report issues immediately.
Sort and stage incoming goods by job, client, and department.
P.O. Tracking:
Track all incoming purchase orders from vendors (SanMar, AlphaBroder, SandS, etc.).
Note expected delivery dates and update the production dashboard.
Communicate delays or discrepancies to the Production Manager.
Counting In Garments:
Open all boxes and accurately count garments by size, color, and quantity.
Compare counts to the purchase order and the job sheet.
Report shortages or mis‑ships with photo evidence.
Label and stage counted garments for production.
Job Setup Assistance:
Organize counted garments into job‑labeled bins.
Sort items in print order (screen print, DTF, embroidery, wide‑format).
Pull job tickets, packing slips, and necessary accessories (tags, poly bags, patches).
Ensure all items are production‑ready.
Labeling Orders:
Apply job labels, size labels, and production stickers where needed.
Label outgoing orders with customer name, SO number, and job notes.
Maintain clean, accurate labeling for easy traceability in the shop.
Shipping Packages:
Pack finished orders securely and professionally.
Weigh, measure, and ship using the designated carrier software (UPS, USPS).
Print and apply shipping labels.
Update YoPrint and notify the customer when the order ships.
Stage local pickup orders with proper labeling and documentation.
Inventory Management:
Maintain stock of boxes, poly mailers, tape, labels, and packing materials.
Track and record leftover garments, spoilage, and extras.
Assist in quarterly inventory counts.
Communicate low‑stock supply needs to the Production Manager.
Quality Control (QC):
Inspect finished goods for correct print placement, color, garment size, and defects.
Check that quantities match the packing slip.
Report errors immediately using the Flooded Error Reporting Process.
Approve orders for shipment only when meeting Flooded quality standards.
Catching:
Assist print operators by catching shirts off the dryer.
Inspect prints for imperfections as they come down the belt.
Fold or sort items into size stacks for finishing.
Folding and Finishing:
Fold garments neatly to Flooded standards.
Bag, size‑sticker, or bundle garments as required per job.
Attach add‑ons such as hang tags or marketing inserts.
Prepare finished goods for pickup, delivery, or shipping.
Deliveries:
Deliver finished orders to local customers when assigned.
Ensure all orders are delivered securely and professionally.
Collect signatures or proof of delivery.
Maintain a clean company vehicle and follow safe driving practices.
Skills and Qualifications
High attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to lift 40‑50 lbs.
Basic computer skills (shipping software, Google Workspace, YoPrint).
Ability to work on your feet for the majority of the shift.
Works well independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and commitment to quality.
