Position
Maintenance Grounds Technician ISTS at State of Missouri.
Job Location Ike Skelton Training Site, Jefferson City, MO.
Responsibilities
Participates in the care and maintenance of grounds and improvement of landscapes by planting trees, grass, flowers, and shrubs.
Participates in the removal of dirt, rubbish, snow, ice, and other refuse, and maintenance of walkways, parking areas, sheds, and benches.
Waters lawns, trees, and shrubs using hoses or sprinkler system.
Mows and trims lawns; prunes tree plants, shrubs; trims hedges with hand and power equipment; weeds flower beds; removes hazardous tree limbs.
Directs or participates in filling, surfacing, hauling, fertilizing, and spraying operations.
Assists in the removal of ice and snow during inclement weather or after severe storms, and removal of debris.
Assists skilled carpenters, plumbers, electricians or other higher‑level maintenance staff in performing maintenance, repair and construction activities.
Performs routine maintenance carpentry work on furniture, doors, windows, shelves, and floors.
Assists in maintenance and repair of buildings.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and use of hand tools
Valid State Driver’s License
Pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
High School Graduate
Basic computer knowledge
Trade school Graduate
