General Maintenance 2 - HVAC/Service Tech UPMC Greenville is hiring a General Maintenance 2 - HVAC/Service Tech to join the Facilities Team! This Full‑Time role will work 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. shifts with some travel to UPMC Horizon‑Shenango Valley and maintenance outbuildings as needed. On call, weekend rotation, and working off‑shifts and holidays would be required.
Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience, and manager discretion at the time of offer.
Salary
General Maintenance 2 – HVAC/Service Tech: $21.27 to $34.08 per hour.
Responsibilities
Maintain/prepare job site/shop.
Clean, paint, and maintain mechanical and plant rooms/centers.
Minor preventive maintenance of chillers, boilers, and cooling towers.
Filter changes in air handlers, terminal devices, and fan coils.
Clean coils and equipment.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Two years general maintenance‑related work experience or completion of a trade school required.
Military experience considered.

Journeyman 1 – Service Technician Salary
Journeyman 1 – Service Technician: $25.97 to $45.04 per hour.
Responsibilities
Perform all duties in accordance with system‑wide competencies/behaviors.
Inspect all facilities‑specific mechanical air‑conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment to identify possible deficiencies and/or malfunctions.
Interpret all information gathered from blueprints, instruction books, and sketches to maintain all equipment, ensuring it is kept in efficient working order and operated safely.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms, and shop areas; fabricate and maintain ICRA consistent with UPMC policy and standards.
Perform all work following infection‑control procedures; complete and record work orders; submit hours to supervisor daily.
Perform preventive maintenance and take proactive steps to ensure equipment is properly maintained; check meters, gauges, signal lights, and other warning devices for possible problems and make necessary corrections.
Qualifications High School diploma with three‑year apprenticeship in institutional refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilation systems is required.
Completion of a recognized course in institutional refrigeration and air conditioning may be substituted year for year for apprenticeship and experience, or equivalent, such as on‑the‑job training.
Must have working knowledge of plumbing, steam fitting, and sheet metal work. May be in rooms where medication is stored; no contact with medications is allowed.
Licenses and Certifications Must possess appropriate license or registration to meet code requirements, as needed.
