Overview The Extension Educators Coordinator 3 will work administratively under the Area Leader and programmatically with the 4-H Youth Development Educator. This position will support and work in partnership with Extension professionals, volunteers, and members in conducting meaningful educational experiences to help youth grow and reach their fullest potential. The Coordinator will collaborate with Extension specialists, associates, and community partners to design and implement educational and informational programs throughout the state, furthering the overall mission of the Ohio State University Extension. Focused programming is targeted to community needs in 4-H Youth Development.

Key Responsibilities A major requirement for this position is working with older youth groups including Junior Leaders and Junior Fair Board, coordinating and teaching in the 4-H School Enrichment/4-H Afterschool programs, and assisting in teaching the CARTEENS program. The Coordinator will assist the 4-H Educator with preparation for Junior Camp, including training camp counselors, and will attend camp as a member of the adult camp staff; assist the 4-H Educator with Cloverbud Evening; and coordinate Cloverbud Volunteer Training. The Coordinator will assist in coordinating county trainings such as Quality Assurance Training for youth, Volunteer Annual Updates/Training, and assist with the coordination of youth and volunteer awards and recognition. He/she will assist in the coordination of 4-H project evaluation events – hiring judges, judging paperwork, awards programs, state fair paperwork; assist the 4-H Educator with other Jr. Fair duties at the County Fair. The Coordinator will work cooperatively with local 4-H volunteers and members in the organization and management of the County 4-H Youth Development Program and with Junior Leaders and Junior Fair Board Advisors to provide educational opportunities for older youth. As a member of the county team, the employee may also assist with office coverage/management, program marketing, and reports. Strong technology skills are encouraged to assist with marketing through social media, website updates, and other university software applications for program management and communication. Organizational skills and a self‑starter mindset are important. The Coordinator will need to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends; a positive attitude, team player mindset, and use of various educational program delivery methods and teaching techniques are expected.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED required; certification or vocational training may be required.

Associate degree in a relevant field preferred.

2 years of relevant experience required; 4–6 years of relevant experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $16.65 – $21.77 per hour, depending on internal equity, unit budget, and qualifications.
