As a Community Service Vista Fellow you will help the Men of Color Success Initiative develop a culture of service at PCCC. Identifying community needs, building pathways to community programs that can address those needs, and developing and providing training systems for men of color and other community groups in mentoring/ community service activities are just some of the key activities of this position. We are looking for someone with great communication and leadership skills, who values teamwork, and enjoys working with students and within the community. Identify community needs and build pathways to community programs to address those needs; Disseminate best practices for recruiting and sustaining the engagement of community college students in service – especially mentoring urban youth; Develop and provide training systems for men of color and other community groups in mentoring/ community service activities; Establish and maintain a community partner repository and create a community advisory board; Encourage the participation of members of MOCSI, program ambassadors, and core group members in community service activities – especially mentoring urban youth; Evaluate service projects; compile and analyze the results for continued improvement; Work with staff to apply for funding to ensure program sustainability; Help organize leadership summits; Provide monthly progress reports & participate in program evaluation; Participate in training/ professional development activities; and Serve on campus committees.
