Overview The Master Production Scheduler will balance demand, capacity and supplies to ensure efficient and effective operation of the assigned department or facility. As a core participant of the monthly Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, the Scheduler works with the commercial team and demand planner to align the demand plan as a key input to the planning process. The Scheduler creates the rolling master schedule and works with the production planning team to align planners and schedule execution.

Responsibilities

Creation of weekly rolling master schedule and coordination of raw material, supplies, equipment, and staff availability to meet delivery dates.

Execute rough cut capacity planning to analyze the demand plan and develop production schedules that match commercial requirements with plant capabilities while meeting overall business requirements.

Review proposed schedule changes and recommend acceptance, rejection, or alternatives consistent with business requirements, plant capabilities, cost, staffing constraints.

Review customer orders and ensure orders created in accordance with lead time and minimum lot size parameters.

Attend customer meetings to support commercial/customer service teams providing delivery dates and capabilities.

Develop and maintain tools to determine the impact of proposed schedule changes on plant load.

Identify and report on gaps between established capacities, inventory, and demand.

Monitor production attainment and review with plant management team.

Identify opportunities for inventory days on hand reduction.

Review potential raw material/component shortages with the buyer planning team and adjust master schedule accordingly.

Participate in and support monthly SIOP process.

Monitor MRP Exception Messages.

Maintain PFEP for make items and finished goods.

Reconcile inventory discrepancies with Inventory Analyst.

Support plant safety rules and safety observation process.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong work ethic and continuous improvement mindset.

Proven ability to work in a shop environment, implementing and executing projects and tasks.

Good verbal and written communication skills; able to interact well at all levels.

Experience with Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process.

Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced team environment.

Experience with MRP/ERP systems.

Understanding of warehouse / shop floor transactions.

Excellent communication skills; detail oriented team player.

Ability to multi‑task and prioritize.

Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5+ years’ experience in Master Scheduling / Production Planning / Customer Service in a Manufacturing Environment.

APICS CPIM certification or similar is preferred.
