Position Summary Our Bindery Operator is primarily responsible for operating various machines and equipment to finish products that have been printed so they can be delivered. Key Responsibilities
Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions.
Set‑up automatic cutting programs manually into cutter machine.
Examine folded, stitched, collated, bound, and unbound product samples for defects such as imperfect folding, bindings, toner streaks, torn or loose pages.
Set up and operate machines that perform operations such as cutting, folding, scoring/ creasing, padding, drilling, hand punch for coil binding, laminating, perfect binding, saddle stitching, booklet making, etc.
Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.
Install and adjust bindery machine devices, such as knives, guides, rollers, etc., to accommodate sheets, signatures, or books of specified sizes.
Maintain records of daily production, using computer and specified forms.
Lubricate and clean machine parts and make minor repairs to keep machines in working condition.
Perform other related duties as required.
Required Skills
2–5 years of experience setting up and operating bindery and finishing equipment in medium to large print shops with high job count and tight deadlines.
Attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Good mathematical skills.
Reliable attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstations.
