Salary Range:

$53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine calibration, verification, and maintenance of precision measurement equipment and gauges.

Conduct dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies using various metrology instruments (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers).

Interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T specifications, and quality standards to ensure accurate measurement and inspection.

Document inspection results, calibration data, and non‑conformances accurately and thoroughly.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment functionality and measurement discrepancies.

Develop and update metrology procedures, work instructions, and calibration schedules.

Support production and engineering teams by providing measurement expertise and root cause analysis for quality issues.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in operating and programming CMMs and other precision measurement equipment.

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Solid understanding of calibration principles and measurement uncertainty.

Experience with metrology software (e.g., PC‑DMIS, Calypso) and data analysis tools.

Technical degree or certification in metrology, quality assurance, or a related field.

Bonus Qualifications

CMM programming experience (e.g., PC‑DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)

Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)

Experience with non‑contact measurement technologies (e.g., laser scanning, structured light)

CAD software proficiency for model‑based inspection (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA)

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification
