Position Summary Under the direction of the foreperson, paving equipment operators will be responsible for operating several types of road construction equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Equipment may include asphalt paver, paver screed, steel drum roller, rubber tire roller, skid steer, shaping tractor, power broom, and plate tampers. On‑the‑job training will provide the knowledge and skills to become a productive member of one of our crews with the potential for advancement opportunities. This position is a full‑time seasonal, working May through November (weather permitting) and requires working overtime and some Saturdays. Local and regional travel opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain road construction equipment including asphalt pavers, paver screeds, and rollers.

Follow safety and wellness protocols and company safety programs.

Work under the direction of the foreperson and assist in training less experienced employees.

Perform operations under varying seasonal weather and environmental conditions.

Travel locally and regionally as required.

Requirements

One or more years of operating road construction equipment or a technical school degree in Heavy Equipment Operation.

Experience operating at least asphalt paver, paver screed, and steel drum roller.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), if required.

Physical ability to work in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions in a moving highway work zone.

Ability to listen, take direction, be a team player, and help train less experienced employees.
