Join CAL FIRE as a Fire/EMS Dispatcher. This role supports critical emergency response by monitoring dispatch systems, coordinating incident responses, and communicating with field units.

Key Responsibilities
Operate fire and EMS dispatch systems, including radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch platforms.
Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency calls to appropriate units.
Coordinate communication between callers, dispatchers, and first responders.
Maintain accurate logs, reports, and records of incidents.
Provide real‑time situational updates during emergencies.
Assist with training and guidance for new dispatch personnel.
Qualifications & Requirements
Completion of a background investigation and medical clearance prior to hire.
Minimum qualifications as specified in the Communications Operator classification specifications (e.g., high school diploma, basic computer skills).
Experience or training in emergency dispatch or related field is preferred.
Ability to work in a high‑pressure environment with a flexible schedule (with potential telework in the future).
Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
