Park Maintenance Worker – Lake Skinner
Join the County of Riverside Regional Park and Open‑Space District as a Park Maintenance Worker for the Lake Skinner Park division in Temecula, CA.
Responsibilities
Mow, rake, fertilize, water, and clean park areas; remove brush, weeds, and debris from camp and picnic areas.
Maintain and improve equestrian trails; clear and maintain trails; remove dead trees and branches.
Operate trucks and tractors to haul trash, dirt, and rocks; level park areas and roadways.
Perform minor plumbing, electrical, welding, and carpentry work such as repairing faucets, sprinkler heads, benches, playground equipment, and electrical switches.
Install, repair, and maintain fencing, gates, property barriers, and signage.
Maintain and perform minor repairs on vehicles; operate equipment and follow safety procedures.
Qualifications
Valid Class C California Driver's License; required to drive a county vehicle to and from park facilities.
Two years of experience in grounds or building maintenance; plumbing, carpentry, electrical, metal fabrication, landscape gardening, or heating and cooling.
Knowledge of common tools, equipment, and materials used in maintenance work; basic vehicle preventive maintenance techniques.
Ability to read and follow written instructions, write simple reports, and deal courteously with the public.
Physical requirements: able to walk long distances, bend, squat, stand for long periods; work outdoors in any weather; lift heavy materials such as trash bags and concrete bags.
Work Schedule
5 days, 40 hours a week (weekends included in the regular schedule).
Hours will vary depending on department needs and special events.
Must be willing to work holidays and some evening events.
