Base Pay Range
$28.09/hr - $33.14/hr
Location Estimator – HVAC – Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune
Overview EMI Services, a subsidiary of TechFlow, is excited to announce an opening for an Estimator. In this role, you will play a critical part in determining the costs associated with delivering exceptional products or services to our customers. Your responsibilities will include evaluating material, labor, and equipment needs, analyzing quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, comparing bids against specifications and drawings, and actively following up with subcontractors to guarantee the timely receipt of bids. This position specifically focuses on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
Salary and Benefits Pay ranges from $28.09/hr to $33.14/hr, depending on experience and knowledge, plus $14.75 fringe benefits used toward insurance and 401(k). Competitive wages and an insurance allowance are also offered.
Key Responsibilities
Draft the scope of work for all Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) projects.
Develop detailed scopes of work for various types of HVAC projects.
Solicit material and labor costs from contractors.
Solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors.
Review contracts for accuracy and completeness against a proposed scope of work.
Assist QC inspectors with scope interpretations.
Facilitate pre‑construction meetings with subcontractors, coordinate schedules, and process vehicle and contractor passes.
Act as liaison with customer point of contact.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Basic negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Technical, organizational, and telephone etiquette skills.
Knowledge of contractual language.
Basic knowledge of regulatory guidelines, including FAR and DFARS.
Experience with military installation projects.
Technical knowledge and training in electrical, mechanical, HVAC/BAS control systems.
Knowledge of building architectural and structural elements, including alterations and repairs.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Proficiency in operating a personal computer with an emphasis on accuracy, mental alertness, and neatness.
Adaptability and flexibility in work situations.
Practice workplace safety with proper use of tools, equipment, PPE, etc.
