Base Pay Range $42.66/hr – $57.42/hr

Position Purpose Perform tasks as a fully qualified Lineworker I covering all phases of sub‑transmission line work, overhead and underground distribution, SCADA operation, substation construction and maintenance, metering system installations and operation, control system operation, and maintenance of job and inventory records. Perform rubber gloving at voltages up to 34.5 kV.

Principal Accountabilities

Investigate customer or system trouble calls and emergencies without assistance; replace street‑light lamps and controls; repair equipment and conductors powered at up to 600 V and all primary voltages using live‑line tools and methods following applicable regulations.

Set, remove, and read billing meters and measurement devices without assistance.

Reset transformer overload switches, open and close cutouts, remove limbs, perform routine switching, and conduct any other live‑line work in compliance with OSHA 1910.269.

Provide instruction to trainees under your direction; assist standby Lineworker on system trouble calls and emergencies.

Complete all required field paperwork to document work, operations, maintenance, motor‑vehicle records, accurate time records, and trouble/interruption reports.

Qualifications for Utility Lineworker III

Minimum of one year experience as a Utility Lineworker or Lineworker III.

Maintain proficiency in the requirements of a Utility Lineworker or Lineworker III job description.

High School Diploma or certified equivalent.

Be available for outages, trouble calls, and system emergencies during normal and overtime hours.

Reside within an 18‑mile radius or 30‑minute travel time from the applicable operating center within one year of employment.

Provide line‑department standby on a rotating schedule; secondary standby after six months if qualified.

Possess and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL Class A); may be required by the State of New Hampshire or state of residence.

Requires CDL and Driver Qualification File.

Will be drug tested under the FMCSA drug pool.

Qualifications for Utility Lineworker II

Minimum of one year experience as a Utility Lineworker II or Lineworker III.

Maintain proficiency in the requirements of a Utility Lineworker or Lineworker III job description.

High School Diploma or certified equivalent.

Be available for outages, trouble calls, and system emergencies during normal and overtime hours.

Reside within an 18‑mile radius or 30‑minute travel time from the applicable operating center within one year of employment.

Provide line‑department standby on a rotating schedule; secondary standby after six months if qualified.

Possess and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL Class A). May be required by the State of New Hampshire or state of residence.

Requires CDL and Driver Qualification File.

Will be drug tested under the FMCSA drug pool.

Qualifications for Utility Lineworker I

High School graduate or equivalent.

Fully qualified Lineworker I, able to perform all required phases of line work.

Fully qualified to read, remove, and set billing and system measurement meters.

Be available for outages, trouble calls, and system emergencies during normal and overtime hours.

Reside within an 18‑mile radius or 30‑minute travel time from the applicable operating center within one year of employment.

Provide line‑department standby on a rotating schedule.

Possess and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL Class A); may be required by the State of New Hampshire or state of residence.

Requires CDL and Driver Qualification File.

Will be drug tested under the FMCSA drug pool.

Hours For 1st Class: Monday‑Friday 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or Monday‑Thursday 1:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. (Night Shift). 1st Class Utility Lineworkers rotate every two weeks or equally between these work periods.

Wage Ultimate rate: $57.42 per hour for a 40‑hour week. Overtime rates follow the I.B.E.W. Agreement, Local #1837. Starting wage follows Article 3.1, Sections A–C.
