Status:Part-Time (No Benefits)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM; Some Saturdays as needed
Position Summary
The Teen Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and leading teen programming at Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens sites. This role focuses on fostering engagement, recruitment, and retention of middle and high school youth through dynamic and innovative programming. The Teen Coordinator serves as a positive role model, promotes Boys & Girls Clubs’ Key Club, Keystone, and Torch Club initiatives, and ensures that teen programming is consistent, fun, and aligned with the Club’s mission.
Key Responsibilities Teen Programming & Engagement
Spearhead teen programming, ensuring daily activities are offered and engaging for middle and high school youth.
Implement and lead Keystone and Torch Club programs.
Develop innovative, age-appropriate activities that reflect teen interests and trends.
Serve as a relatable role model, fostering positive relationships with teens.
Monitor teen behavior and ensure safe, structured, and productive program environments.
Recruitment & Attendance
Promote teen programming through school outreach, social media, and community engagement.
Work to strengthen daily attendance and encourage active participation in Club programs.
Collaborate with other Club staff to identify and recruit teens who may benefit from programs.
Attend field trips, teen events, and other off-site activities as required.
Support Clubhouse Directors and other staff in teen-related program needs.
Assist with setup and breakdown of program areas for teen activities.
Maintain accurate records of participation in teen programs.
Professional Conduct
Exhibit a positive, approachable, and professional demeanor at all times.
Communicate effectively with teens, families, and colleagues.
Uphold the mission, values, and standards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens.
Qualifications
Experience working with middle and high school youth preferred.
Knowledgeable of teen interests, trends, and engagement strategies.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
Creative, innovative, and able to implement programming that maintains high engagement.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate with other staff members.
Required Before Employment Begins
Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Completion of all required onboarding and documentation.
