Junior Licensed Character Graphic Designer
Full-time role ideal for a junior designer with strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills, a passion for licensed character art, and an interest in learning how the licensing approval process works from concept to final submission.
About the Role As a Junior License Designer, you will support the development of licensed character graphics, patterns, and product artwork, while also assisting with the preparation and organization of materials required for licensor approvals. When license submission volume is lighter, you’ll spend more time on design work and creative projects.
Key Responsibilities Licensed Design Development
Create and refine licensed character graphics and print/pattern layouts.
Develop license-based pattern repeats, placements, and additional artwork.
Build inspiration and mood boards to support seasonal collections and trend direction.
Prepare clean, production-ready files for internal use and licensor submission.
Artwork Editing & Revisions
Review licensor feedback and implement required artwork changes accurately and efficiently.
Resubmit revised artwork files in the proper format and naming structure.
License Submission Support
Fill out and update internal and licensor-facing Excel forms after styles are submitted for approval.
Track artwork status (submitted, in review, approved, revisions requested, etc.) in Excel or internal systems.
Organize and maintain digital files, ensuring artwork and forms are correctly labeled, stored, and easily accessible.
Assist in preparing submission packages (artwork files, mockups, and required documentation) for on-time delivery.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with senior designers and the licensing team to understand brand guidelines and requirements.
Support team members with quick turnaround design updates and file prep as timelines require.
Contribute to creative discussions and brainstorms for new licensed programs and product concepts.
Requirements
0–1 years of professional design experience preferred (internship + junior‑level experience considered).
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (data entry, simple formatting, tracking).
Portfolio that demonstrates character‑based artwork, pattern design, or illustrative graphics.
Ability to follow detailed brand and licensor style guides while maintaining design quality.
High level of accuracy and organization when managing multiple files and submission details.
Ability to handle feedback and revisions constructively and turn changes around quickly.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Nice to Have
Experience working with licensed brands or character artwork.
Understanding of basic production constraints for printed graphics and patterns.
