The Sales Demand Planning Manager serves as a key driver of L.A.B. Golf's commercial business, acting as the primary owner of demand forecasting, inventory strategy, and retailer collaboration across our largest wholesale partners. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining monthly, seasonal, and annual sales forecasts, analyzing historical and real‑time data, and providing actionable insights to optimize inventory and product performance. The position emphasizes high‑level analytical thinking, judgment, cross‑functional collaboration, and communication with both internal teams and external retail partners. Responsibilities and Duties Retailer Collaboration and Forecasting
Partner with key wholesale retailers' planning teams to establish monthly, seasonal, and annual sales targets and inventory goals.
Coordinate with retailer teams to ensure forecasts are aligned with promotional calendars, seasonal initiatives, and product launches.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Sales planning communications, maintaining professional and collaborative relationships.
Demand Analysis and Strategy
Analyze historical sales, market trends, and demand signals to identify patterns and opportunities for growth.
Develop and maintain retail forecasting models to support accurate sales predictions and inventory planning.
Provide actionable recommendations to optimize assortment strategies, including new product launches, existing product performance, and end‑of‑life (EOL) items.
Evaluate inventory constraints and collaborate with Supply Chain and Fulfillment teams to balance supply and demand effectively.
Reporting and Insights
Prepare and distribute weekly sell‑through and inventory reporting to leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Translate data into clear insights, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities for decision‑making.
Monitor forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvements to demand planning processes.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Supply Chain teams to align demand strategies with overall business objectives.
Support new product launches and promotional initiatives by providing demand projections and inventory guidance.
Partner with leadership to ensure alignment on strategic goals, inventory targets, and risk mitigation plans.
Inventory Management and Risk Mitigation
Monitor inventory levels and constraints, recommending actions to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
Collaborate with planning and fulfillment teams to optimize allocation across wholesale channels.
Proactively identify and address risks to meet sales and inventory targets.
Continuous Improvement & Governance
Maintain best practices for demand planning, forecasting, and reporting.
Ensure all processes comply with company policies, data governance standards, and retailer requirements.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance forecasting accuracy, efficiency, and cross‑functional alignment.
General Duties
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support LAB Golf's sales planning strategy and overall business objectives.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent professional experience in wholesale planning, retail operations, or demand forecasting will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in retail planning, buying, sales operations, or finance with a focus on forecasting and inventory management.
Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining retail demand forecasts, reporting, and sell‑thru analysis.
Exposure to managing constrained inventory environments and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Experience in consumer goods, sporting goods, or retail industries preferred.
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, and pivot tables.
Experience working with retail sell‑thru data, forecasting software, or planning systems.
Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
