Description The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.

Applications are encouraged from prospective post-doctoral fellows who aim to characterize and/or model ocean circulation and biogeochemical processes and/or their interactive effects on marine ecosystems. The work may involve analysis of available satellite remote sensing observations, in‑situ and airborne observations from past field experiments, and global model output from prior community experiments. The work may also involve new development and applications of high-resolution ocean process models or parameterizations that are applicable in global ocean models or can be applied to global satellite remote sensing observations. Scientific areas of interest include but are not limited to mesoscale, submesoscale and surface boundary layer processes, air‑sea‑ice interaction, coastal ocean processes, and the consequences of global warming for the ocean.
