High-volume, family-owned Toyota dealership in Wood‑Ridge, NJ is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to lead technician productivity, diagnostics, and development in a modern service operation.
Base Pay Range $90,000 - $130,000 per year
Position Overview The Shop Foreman / Technical Lead role is designed for an experienced, senior‑level technician who is ready to move into a leadership position and focus on guiding, mentoring, and improving the performance of the entire shop. This role is not a full‑time wrench‑turning position; while hands‑on diagnostic assistance may be required when needed, the primary focus is on technical leadership, productivity, accountability, and technician development.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Diagnostics:
Serve as the top technical resource for complex diagnostic concerns, assist technicians with advanced diagnostic strategy and problem‑solving, ensure all repairs meet Toyota factory standards and quality expectations.
Productivity & Efficiency:
Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, and workflow, identify opportunities to improve shop throughput and utilization, work with service management to support fair dispatching and job flow.
Training, Mentorship & Certification:
Mentor and coach technicians to improve skill level and confidence, support ASE and Toyota certification advancement, help elevate technicians toward expert‑level capability.
Accountability & Quality Control:
Hold technicians accountable for proper diagnostic processes and repair quality, review comebacks and repeat repairs, implement corrective coaching, promote professionalism, consistency, and pride in workmanship.

Qualifications & Experience

Strong communication and leadership skills.
Compensation & Opportunity
