POSITION DESCRIPTION BIGWAHA is seeking a dynamic design professional to add to our growing Interior Design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can quickly acclimate and is confident making design contributions from day one. We pride ourselves on being creative and technically strong designers.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Full participation in complete design process: programming and space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, Interior finish specifications, construction documents, Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E), specifications, and Construction Administration.

Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents.

Create finish boards and prepare interior design presentations.

Produce millwork / furniture drawings and details to meet specific program requirements while also representing an overall design concept.

Collaborate with the project team for the finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction.

Work with consultants, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.

Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples.

Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field.

1-4 years Experience in the field (USA).

Experience with Revit is required. Fluency is preferred.

Graphic presentation skills with knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and SketchUp is preferred.

Familiarity with the design process and knowledge of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E), Millwork, Finishes, Materials, Color palettes and Specifications.

Flexibility and desire to work on a variety of project types.

Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages of development and organize, prioritize, and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with project teams.

Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Excels at communicating design ideas and direction quickly.

Perseverance in thorough troubleshooting and creative problem-solving.

Motivated team player eager to collaborate with colleagues and design team.

Ability to work in our office located in Annapolis, MD. This is not a remote work position.
