FLSA Exempt, Full Time Faculty, 3‑year appointment, Non‑tenure track, FTE 1.
Scope of Job The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley seeks a lecturer of Chemistry beginning in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will teach a variety of introductory level undergraduate courses and laboratories, primarily General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Teaching duties include in‑person, hybrid, or online instruction at UTRGV’s distributed campuses. The lecturer is expected to implement evidence‑based teaching strategies, document student learning outcomes, integrate innovative technology, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance student success.
Minimum Qualifications M.S. in Chemistry or a related area from an accredited university.
Evidence of teaching excellence, including experience with undergraduate Science courses and proficiency in SACS‑COC or other accreditation requirements.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and campus community.
Preferred Qualifications Terminal degree in Chemistry or a related field (Master of Science or above).
Teaching experience in undergraduate Chemistry courses, with prior or current experience teaching General Chemistry or Organic Chemistry.
Experience engaging underrepresented students and promoting inclusive learning environments.
Start Date September 1, 2026.
