Fairview Health Services is looking for a Cook in the Nutrition Services Department at the UMMC West Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. This position is 32 hours bi-weekly and is responsible for preparing food items as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established standards of high quality.
Schedule Week 1: Thursday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Saturday: 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM Sunday: 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
Week 2: Thursday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Responsibilities
Prepares food products to meet temperature and quality standards.
Follows standardized recipes, weighing and measuring ingredients to ensure consistency in quality and nutritional value.
Assembles food within appropriate time frames.
Handles and prepares food safely following HACCP standardized operating procedures.
Records temperatures of food items and makes appropriate adjustments to achieve standards.
Sanitizes equipment and work area according to schedules and designated procedures.
Takes ownership of self and others in the work area.
Provides care or service, adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.
Required Qualifications
One to three years cook experience.
Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, using the English language.
Basic math skills.
Certified or willing to become certified for food safety.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
