Join our growing Water Resources Department where you will tackle projects ranging from drainage improvements and flood studies to storm drain design, BMP retrofits, bridge and culvert hydraulic design, and stream restoration.

Position Summary The Water Resources Designer I will be responsible for designing stormwater management systems, preparing engineering plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a hybrid remote office environment.

Responsibilities

Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using WinTR‑55/TR‑20, HEC‑RAS, Inroads Storm and Sanitary, Open Roads, PondPack, StormCAD, and other modeling software.

Collect and analyze field data, as‑built plans, and engineering reports to establish existing conditions and identify critical areas for design criteria.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary design team to develop solutions.

Design stormwater management systems for water quality and quantity control.

Prepare drainage, soil erosion and sediment control, utility relocation, right‑of‑way, staging and construction plans, specifications, and engineering estimates for water resources and transportation projects.

Develop engineering design plans, details, and specifications using MicroStation and Open Roads CAD software.

Qualifications

0 to 4 years of experience in water resources design.

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Water Resources.

Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.

Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.

Experience working effectively in a team atmosphere.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

Working knowledge of MicroStation or Open Roads CAD development software.

Project design experience related to water resources and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
