This position will conduct research to characterize the role of thrips proteins in virus acquisition and transmission by thrips. The scientist will perform experiments such as RNAi of thrips genes, RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, immunolabeling and colocalization analysis and virus acquisition and transmission assays.
