Community Associate – The High School of Fashion Industries
Position Summary
The Community Associate performs outreach duties that support partnership efforts with existing community organizations and the introduction of new community partnerships. The role engages with Parent Teachers' Association and various school departments and coordinates community development programs.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains computer-based record-keeping systems for community partner information.
Coordinates contact with parents and the school community to elicit support for school activities, parent meetings, workshops, musical productions, and volunteer activities.
Develops and strengthens relationships with community-based organizations and coordinates regular community meetings and events.
Assists students and staff in building relationships with external partners.
Operates written and telephone communication with parents, partners and the community.
Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent and three years of community work experience related to duties described above.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent public speaking and people skills.
Preferred
Team player who works closely with school and community members.
Prior school setting experience interacting with students, parents and staff.
Knowledge of school program objectives.
Work Schedule 12‑month assignment, 35 hours per week. Flexibility with early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Salary $44,432 (New Hire Rate) – $51,094–$73,941 for incumbent – 2 years of full‑time continuous city service.
