The Wisconsin State Senate Democratic Caucus (SSDC) is the progressive political organization that supports the election and re-election of Democrats in the Wisconsin State Senate. The SSDC is the political arm of the Wisconsin Senate Democrats. It is overseen by Democratic Minority Leader Dianne Hesselbein for the 2026 cycle.

Campaign Manager overview:

The Wisconsin State Senate Democratic Committee (SSDC) seeks Campaign Managers for targeted priority campaigns across the state of Wisconsin. These Managers are responsible for all departments of each campaign: overseeing staff, consultants, partner organizations and the candidate. Managers report directly to their candidate and the SSDC Executive Director. These are political positions in a collaborative, fast-paced, and innovative environment. The work of all Campaign Managers will require travel, weeknight, and weekend hours.

Campaign Manager responsibilities:

Directly manage a competitive State Senate campaign

Supervise campaign staff, interns, and volunteers

Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, partner organizations and local groups

Develop and execute a fundraising plan, manage calltime and events

Work with SSDC staff and consultants to develop budgets and paid communications plans

Respond to press inquiries, build relationships with reporters as appropriate, work with SSDC staff to implement an earned communications plan, and draft press releases

Manage social media profiles

Draft written content for the campaign

Campaign Manager desired skills and qualifications:

A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience

Knowledge of Wisconsin politics and/or state legislative campaigns is preferred

Experience working directly with candidates is ideal

Volunteer management experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with Votebuilder, NGP, and ActBlue is desired but not required

Campaign Manager compensation:

$5,000 - $6,000 monthly salary, commensurate with experience

For medical insurance, SSDC offers 90% employee premium coverage, 30% dependent premium coverage.

For dental and vision insurances, SSDC offers 99% employee premium coverage.
