Description The Senior Strategic Communications Specialist will provide high‑level administrative and operational support to the F‑35 Commanders Action Group (CAG), perform outreach to the media, Congress, the DoD, and the public, and prepare communications materials for external messaging. The role also supports the Chief of Staff/Corporate Operations by providing information and communications support to executive leaders and the JPO community, and performs quality control checks and gate reviews of packages requiring Executive Leadership signatures.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and operational support to the F‑35 CAG, ensuring timely and unified communication of high‑quality information that enables the F‑35 Enterprise to deliver essential capabilities.
Outreach to media, Congress, the DoD, and the public by preparing communications materials (Congressional reports, GAO reports, speechwriting) for external messaging and distribution; develop JPO‑wide Requests for Information.
Manage workflow assignments from external sources to the F‑35 JPO organizations through the ETMS2 system.
Maintain the F‑35 JPO Front Office’s ETMS2 account and review correspondence requiring Executive Leader signatures for correctness, procedural and regulatory conformance, and quality.
Perform quality control reviews of reports and documents, ensuring high‑quality correspondence and distributing it to designated recipients in accordance with approved guidelines.
Support CAG with planning, development, and posting of updates to the F‑35 JPO intranet and social media channels; provide digital media support for events.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; or 5 years additional experience in lieu of a degree.
10 years of experience with Military Departments and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) policy and documentation, including DoD reporting tools and major reports.
Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills.
Active Secret Clearance.
