Job Summary
The Limited Term Admissions Counselor, School of Education Specialist is instrumental in shaping Georgia Gwinnett College’s new student enrollment and raising awareness of the college. Collaborating with the School of Education Dean and Admissions Services leadership, the admissions counselor will strategically manage all facets of recruitment for the School of Education and potential graduate programs, from planning and execution, to promoting the college's unique offerings to prospective students and the community. This position plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment with the expectation of continuous improvement and first-class customer service. The incumbent participates in divisional activities as a member of the Enrollment Management Services division. Collaborative and team-oriented skills with a commitment to student success are essential attributes for the individual in this position.
Responsibilities
Develop, facilitate, and implement recruitment initiatives for the School of Education's (SOE) P-12 Teacher Workforce program and potential graduate programs, including on- and off-campus events, virtual programs, digital communications, outreach, and collaborating with various departments across the college to maximize program visibility.
Work with School of Education Dean and Admissions Services leadership to develop and execute a recruitment and communication plan for a targeted recruitment territory, including strategies for lead generation, applicant engagement, and yield management.
Provide personalized admissions support to prospective students by leveraging expertise in Gwinnett County Public School organization and processes, Educator Preparation Program requirements, and potential graduate program requirements through various communication channels, including text, email, phone, campus visits, on and off campus events, and other outreach methods.
Build and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, technical colleges, community-based organizations, students, parents, alumni, campus partners, and professional organizations to support and exceed SOE and GGC's enrollment goals. Perform work primarily in-person on campus and at off campus events, with an expectation of evening and weekend availability and occasional overnight travel.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of GGC's mission, vision, history, policies, undergraduate and potential graduate admissions requirements and procedures.
Leverage in-depth knowledge of state teacher certification requirements to clearly and effectively communicate information to prospective students, their support networks, and the wider community.
Utilize the Admissions Services CRM to manage relationships with prospective students, monitor recruitment activities, communicate effectively, and analyze data to track key territory metrics to support the overall GGC, School of Education and Enrollment Management strategic goals.
Assist with planning, implementation, and execution of campus events, such as Preview Days, Academic Experience Nights, Grizzly Orientation, and other identified events.
Contribute to working groups, serve as a liaison to other campus areas, assist with special projects, and perform other duties as assigned to support the college's mission, and School of Education and enrollment management objectives.
Required Qualifications
4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
1-3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English and Spanish) with a high-level of proficiency in each language
Graduate admission experience
Experience with public speaking
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license with acceptable driving record
Proposed Salary 38,300 - 45,900 Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to make effective recruitment presentations.
Able to maintain knowledge of, familiarity with and experience in the admissions field and interpreting policies, procedures, articulation agreements, recruitment strategies, and proposed legislation that may affect admissions.
Ability to evaluate student transcripts and/or records.
Be a team player willing to embrace the concept of continuous improvement.
Ability to present clear and accurate information to small and large groups of various populations.
Evidence of being highly organized, self-directed, and forward-thinking.
Ability to effectively work with various constituencies in a large, fast-paced professional work environment.
Ability to work independently and develop project timelines and associated tasks to be completed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekends.
Represent GGC in a professional and positive manner at all recruitment related functions.
Knowledge of and experience with a CRM, computer systems, programs and applications using Banner.
