Advanced Practice Provider Hospice & Palliative Care Fellowship Program (2026-2027)
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is dedicated to ending cancer for life. Our specialized care teams provide personalized, compassionate, expert care to patients of all ages. MSK integrates basic research conducted at the Sloan Kettering Institute with cutting‑edge clinical practice, thereby advancing cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment worldwide.
Fellowship Overview The APP Oncology Fellowship Hospice and Palliative Care subspecialty track is a 12‑month post‑graduate training program for nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs). Fellows gain intensive oncology clinical experience while receiving protected educational time, preparing them to provide patient care across the cancer continuum.
Throughout the Fellowship Program, Fellows Will
Develop skills to strengthen critical thinking.
Build confidence to work within a professional clinical setting.
Exercise self‑directed learning.
Utilize and integrate evidence‑based practice into patient care.

Work Hours
Fellows may be asked to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Average work week is about 50 hours, including clinical and protected didactic time.
Fellow Clinical Responsibilities
Gather a comprehensive patient history.
Perform a comprehensive physical examination.
Order and analyze laboratory and diagnostic studies.
Formulate differential diagnoses, provide rationale for decisions, and implement treatment plans.
Evaluate patient response to treatment.
Coordinate patient care.
Actively participate within the interdisciplinary care team.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient encounters.
Perform procedures.
Participate in didactic learning, projects, and presentations.
Stipend
$100,000

High motivation, critical thinker, and strong desire to care for oncology patients.

All Applicants Must
Graduate from an accredited nursing, NP, and/or PA program in the United States.
Hold a current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license or a Physician Assistant license.
Possess appropriate NP/PA board certification (Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care NP, Adult‑Gerontology Primary Care NP, Family NP, or PA).
