$75,300.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr About the Role
As part of our team, in this initial remit you will provide HSE support and leadership related to a project in Cary/Wilson, NC. You’ll serve as a partner working with project and construction management as well as the Line of Business (LOB) HSE Director to lead HSE excellence and contribute to and/or develop strategies to win pursuits which ensure no worker injuries or negative impacts to our client’s business continuity. We’ll rely on you to take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm and for driving strategies and performance while supporting continuous improvement. You’ll own and maintain open communication with the LOB HSE Director, project and peer LOB HSE team members, and members of our Construction Management teams to provide technical resources, guidance, and to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of HSE process tools. By establishing these working relationships, you’ll provide visible support and leadership to all clients and LOB stakeholders by providing interpretation, training, technical review and support, regulatory guidance and governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the Jacobs HSE program. Other responsibilities include leading/supporting incident notification, investigation and reporting processes, facilitating injury management and return to work processes, assisting in developing Jacobs project specific HSE plans, reviewing subcontractor hazard assessments and deliverables, and participating as required in operational readiness reviews or other forums relevant to project success. Travel will be anticipated within the mid‑Atlantic region of the U.S.; future assignments may require additional travel within the U.S. and potentially North America. Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of construction HSE experience and in managing employees and supporting subcontractor safe work Experience delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and/or similar outreach and coaching Working knowledge of applicable regulatory compliance, including all federal, state, and local agency requirements A professional HSE certification and/or degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or related field; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 30‑Hour Construction training (or OSHA 500/501) Experience in Life Sciences construction projects Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Strong communication skills and ability to act in a self‑directed manner when in familiar territory Bilingual in English and Spanish; ability to communicate effectively with Hispanic members of our workforce Benefits
