POSITION SPECIFICS Criminal Justice Research Center (CJRC) at The Pennsylvania State University, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PADOC), invites applications for a

Postdoctoral Scholar

position. The successful applicant will collaborate with PADOC on research related to the evaluation of institutional and community corrections rehabilitation programs, offender risk and needs assessment, correctional policy analysis, and related topics.

This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

Data collection and/or management

Data analysis

Preparation of reports, manuscripts, and conference presentations

Participation in graduate and undergraduate student mentoring

QUALIFICATIONS Eligibility requires a Ph.D. in criminal justice, criminology, sociology, economics, public policy, or a related field at the time of appointment.

Applicants must be either:

Ph.D. candidates anticipating completion of all degree requirements by the appointment date.

Scholars who completed a Ph.D. within the past two years.

Preference will be given to candidates with advanced training in statistics or methods of causal inference, research interests in corrections, knowledge or experience with program evaluation, and experience with predictive analytics, machine learning techniques, econometric techniques, data visualization techniques, and various statistical software.
