Senior Environmental Project Scientist
Location: Schaumburg, IL (In Office and Onsite)
Company: We are a nationwide environmental, architecture, and engineering consulting firm that assists clients with environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and engineering and architectural design. Multiple locations throughout the U.S serving wireless communications, commercial real estate and financial industries.
Summary
Phase I & II ESA (Environmental Site Assessment) EP reviews
NEPA Review Reports
Conduct site visits of wireless communications facilities and commercial properties
Review historical records, environmental and regulatory databases
Interpret and compile information for drafting standardized reports in accordance with ASTM E-1527-21 (AAI)
Desired candidate will meet Environmental Professional requisite and be able to perform EP reviews of Phase I/II Reports
Key Responsibilities
Collect site samples of potentially contaminated subsurface media
Take detailed notes and photographs of site (1-2 days per week)
Analyze government database records
Conduct interviews
Perform regulatory agency file reviews & draft standardized reports, reviewing historical data including topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs.
Perform QA/QC
Phase I Assessments (ASTM E1527)
Phase II Assessments (ASTM E1903)
Basic Requirements
Certified Environmental Professional (EP)
3-5 years of field experience conducting environmental due diligence work on telecommunications and commercial real estate projects
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Geography or related fields
Attention to detail and Strong work ethic
Ability to conduct field work
Valid driver's license
Ability and willingness to travel
Good computer skills (Microsoft office and document formatting proficiency)
Independent worker

NEPA/Section 106 Assessments
40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
Mold assessment/indoor air quality (IAQ) experience
Licensed Asbestos/Lead-based paint Inspector
Transaction Screen Assessments (ASTM E1528)
Property Condition Assessments (ASTM E2018)
Record Search with Risk Assessments (SBA SOP 50 10 6)
Wetland Delineations
Salary Range $65 - $75K
