Job Description
Montgomery College Department of Engineering, Physical, and Computer Sciences in Rockville is accepting applications for a part‑time faculty member to teach Introduction to Engineering Design (ENES100). The position is a daytime instructor required to teach on Monday and Wednesday mornings at the Rockville, Germantown, or TPSS campuses. Acceptable applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor. Duties and Responsibilities
Teach freshman and sophomore‑level engineering courses, especially Introduction to Engineering Design. Conduct assigned classes in accordance with the catalog description, course syllabi, and college policies. Be available for student consultation. Participate in departmental meetings when possible. Hold every scheduled class, including the final examination, and maintain all scheduled instructional time. Maintain teaching standards consistent with department and college expectations. Submit syllabi, course materials, midterm grades, final grades, and final examinations on time. Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Working knowledge of CREO parametric modeling software. Strong communication skills. Access to a personal computer with virus protection and internet connectivity; the college may provide temporary access if needed. Eligibility to work in the United States without a sponsor. Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of one semester of teaching experience (graduate teaching assistant acceptable). Demonstrated excellence in classroom instruction with use of diverse teaching methods. Experience using technology in instruction. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated currency in the discipline. Experience working with culturally diverse or underprepared students. Commitment to the community college mission. Experience in distance delivery and other instructional methods. For degrees earned outside the U.S., submit a copy of your education equivalency evaluated by a nationally recognized service. Employees must live in Maryland or a State with college payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA). As a Condition of Employment
