POLICE OFFICER (Lateral Applicants)

The City of Northglenn Police Department is currently accepting applications for Lateral Police Officer. Applicants must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a police officer working in a patrol capacity by the date of hire. Work is scheduled on a rotating shift basis (Days, Swings, and Graveyards), and includes holidays and overtime. Salary Range: $83,328 - 109,225/year POLICE OFFICER (POST Certified Applicants)

The City of Northglenn Police Department is currently accepting applications for POST Certified Police Officer. Applicants must be Colorado POST Certified or currently be in a Colorado approved POST certified academy. Work is scheduled on a rotating shift basis (Days, Swings, and Graveyards), and includes holidays and overtime. Salary Range: $77,876/year There is a $5,000 one-time cash award for POST certified applicants upon successful completion of the FTO program. An additional $5,000 cash award is available upon the successful completion of probationary period (12 months). Some of these include enforcing traffic and criminal laws, apprehending criminals, maintaining order, answering calls for service, conducting investigations, educating the public regarding public safety issues and crime prevention, prepares written reports and field notes of investigations and patrol activities, apprehending criminals and testifying in court. Colorado Lateral Police Officers:

Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a certified police officer working in a patrol capacity by the date of hire, and your peace officer certification must still be active and in good standing with the State of Colorado POST. Laterals from other states must be currently certified as a police officer in another state with ability to obtain Colorado POST certification within state and department deadlines. POST Certified Position:

Must be Colorado POST Certified If you are not currently POST Certified (or currently in an approved police academy) you will not be considered for this position and your application will be denied. Out of state Police Officers:

Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a certified police officer working in a patrol capacity by the date of hire. May apply and be hired under a provisional certification but must be able to obtain Colorado POST certification within 6 months from date of hire. For requirements of provisional certification go to the Colorado POST provisional certification page (URL provided in original posting). Associates Degree and higher desired, however, not required.
