The Strategic Threat Specialist will assess risks and threats such as crime or terrorism to protect NYP’s employees, property, affairs, brand, and events. Identifies and researches new potential threats using public and private information, open-source intelligence (OSINT), and other effective research techniques. Establishes clear, effective, and proactive plans for avoiding or mitigating newly emerged or evolving threats. Assists decision-making and investigates incidents that expose potential issues in current organizational security plans and procedures.
Essential Duties
Identifies, evaluates, and communicates real-time analytical insights regarding specific risks and intelligence gaps.
Monitors emerging threats and trends across the healthcare sector to proactively identify potential risks and inform strategic planning.
Develops and applies analytical frameworks to interpret intelligence and produce actionable assessments.
Enhances NYP’s intelligence collection capabilities by gathering and disseminating raw intelligence against priority risks and intelligence gaps.
Collaborates with NYP stakeholders to enhance intelligence collection and analysis while managing internal communication channels to ensure intelligence reaches the appropriate audiences.
Synthesizes complex information into strategic analytic products that contextualize intelligence and deepen understanding of risks, gaps, and vulnerabilities.
Delivers regular intelligence briefings and healthcare-specific risk assessments to security leadership and senior executives to support informed decision-making.
Advances insider risk and intellectual property protection programs by benchmarking industry best practices and integrating innovative methodologies into security operations.
Builds and maintains relationships with intelligence sources across healthcare sector and collaborates with law enforcement and intelligence agencies to identify and develop actionable intelligence opportunities.
Contributes to the development of policies and procedures that enhance organizational resilience and mitigate identified risks.
Assists in training and awareness initiatives to promote a culture of security and intelligence-driven decision-making across the organization.
Evaluates the effectiveness of intelligence programs and recommends enhancements to improve operational impact and efficiency.
Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in all intelligence collection and dissemination activities.
Supports incident response efforts by providing timely intelligence assessments and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
This is a Monday – Friday Day Shift.
Required Criteria
Bachelor’s Degree
10+ years of related experience
Experience with government or private sector intelligence agencies
Proficiency in data visualization and computing tools capable of aggregating and presenting complex information through dashboards, charts, and graphs
Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with effective presentation capabilities and a customer-focused approach
Expertise in protective intelligence, reputational risk mitigation, and insider threat management, including comprehensive strategies for safeguarding intellectual property
Experience supporting senior leadership and government officials, including the delivery of training and awareness programs to internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work independently in high-performance environments while effectively collaborating across functions within a matrixed organization
Demonstrates composure, adaptability, and a solution-oriented mindset in dynamic environments with shifting priorities and evolving goals
