Boys JV Lacrosse Coach
Reports To: Athletic Director
Danvers Public Schools is seeking a JV Boys Lacrosse Coach for Danvers High School. The goal of a Coach is to organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive athletic program in the assigned sport that is designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Comply with all MIAA Rules and Regulations as well as those of the Danvers Public Schools.
Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team.
Manage uniforms, equipment and school facilities responsibly, following school policies involving financial transactions.
Communicate expectations of the team related to school‑sponsored activities.
Monitor athletes' school attendance, grades and personal conduct.
Serve as the public relations and publicity contact for the assigned athletic program; follow set procedures for communicating with parents/guardians and student athletes.
Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility.
Create an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship; compile and maintain accurate individual and team performance records; participate in the awards program(s) according to school procedure.
Ensure adequate supervision for all students involved in the program; provide safety by inspecting facilities and equipment, and being aware of environmental conditions.
Issue, collect, inventory, and store equipment consistent with department guidelines.
Instruct participants in safety procedures and the need to report injuries to the coach and/or trainer immediately; implement appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensure a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards are available at all times.
Work with and assist the Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director in scheduling contests.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or Principal or their designee.
