Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled
Underground OSP (Outside Plant) Technician
to join our team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground fiber optic infrastructure, including pedestals, anchors, conduit systems, and related components.
Key Responsibilities
Perform underground installation of fiber optic cables, conduit, pedestals, anchors, and associated hardware.
Operate heavy equipment such as trenchers, excavators, and directional drills safely and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and local regulations.
Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and OSP design documents.
Conduct site preparation, including excavation, backfilling, and restoration.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of installed OSP infrastructure.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications
Previous experience in underground fiber optic installation or OSP construction preferred.
Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment safely.
Strong understanding of OSP construction standards and practices.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
Job Type & Location This is a contract position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
