Job Summary Primarily responsible for managing and maintaining Pero Transport, LLC’s fleet so the company can meet distribution objectives efficiently and cost‑effectively. Assist in records, maintenance, and equipment cost control. Constant communication with Fleet Manager and Compliance department to ensure safe and effective fleet management.
Primary Responsibilities
Daily coordination of equipment and personnel availability to provide vehicle mechanical inspections, repairs, and driver communication.
Assist in administrative processing of paperwork in acquisition or disposal of equipment (title, registration, license, etc.).
Plan, organize and direct equipment maintenance, repair and disposal while updating maintenance files.
Review maintenance invoices to ensure proper maintenance was performed.
Transport equipment as required for acquisition and repair.
Oversee vehicle emissions program to comply with federal and state mandates.
Maintain database of sales, registration, inspections and maintenance of fleet.
Monitor and ensure fleet operates in compliance with local and state rules and regulations.
Communicate and oversee proper addition of new equipment into TMT Software data management system to allocate expenses.
Provide direction and effectively communicate to Fleet Manager of fleet replacements, requirements and needs.
Ensure fleet is properly filled with qualified drivers.
Education & Experience
Analytical skills and problem‑solving capabilities.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage personnel.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to learn and understand transportation software systems and technologies.
Expertise in transportation equipment and mechanics.
Knowledge of all DOT, state and federal requirements, policies and procedures.
5+ years of experience in heavy‑diesel equipment and safety certifications and training.
Participate in workshops and educational programs to maintain knowledge on all industry regulations.
