Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) is a forward‑thinking, financially stable, and mission‑driven organization. As the largest and most accomplished healthcare system in the southern Illinois region, we are proud to serve our community with a commitment to quality care and compassionate service. A not‑for‑profit organization, SIH is also the region's leading provider of charity care and community benefits.
Our 3,800+ employees including more than 300 employed providers are united by a shared passion for leadership, teamwork, and patient‑centered care. Our skilled staff and visionary administrators work together to create a supportive, collaborative, and rewarding environment.
We rely on physician engagement surveys to help identify opportunities for growth and guide meaningful improvements. SIH is hospital‑employed and offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. We use a system‑wide Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system to serve a 350,000‑patient population. Plus, we provide free, on‑site parking at both hospital and clinic locations.
Nestled in a friendly, welcoming region, our community offers the perfect blend of small‑town charm and rich cultural experiences. With a diverse population and a strong connection to nature, residents enjoy access to state parks, national forests, scenic lakes, and endless outdoor recreation.
The area is home to Southern Illinois University Carbondale and boasts a vibrant arts and music scene, live performances, and outdoor festivals throughout the year.
