About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health's fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle. This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions. Responsibilities
Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient check in/out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointment scheduling. Provide customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation and referrals management. Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next day patients and completing next day preparation activities. Enter pre-visit orders and prepare new patient charts. Handle medical records duties including picking up, filing, returning, and attaching HIPAA/Medicare documents to encounter forms. Check-in patients upon arrival; verify and edit patient demographic data in Maestro Care; ensure correct account identification for patient visits. Present and educate patients on required forms, obtain signatures, complete Maestro Care check-in files, and manage alerts. Collect and post co-payments and balances; imprint and file chart documents and requisitions; distribute insurance cards as indicated. Coordinate labs/procedures as requested; prepare encounter forms and investigate missing forms; batch and audit for completeness and accuracy. Schedule tests and procedures; complete ancillary service requisitions; explain billing to patients per PRMO credit and collection policies. Determine cash collection amounts based on insurance plans; check-out patients and arrange return appointments with correct appointment types and physician associations. Answer telephone calls and relay messages to physicians and staff; accurately report information and disseminate messages according to practice standards. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication; basic PC and data entry skills. Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette. Ability to organize and prioritize work; provide clear instructions; interact tactfully with customers; maintain effective relationships. Ability to apply departmental policies and regulations relating to verifying patient information, collecting payments, and maintaining records and forms. Level Characteristics
