About The Role The Pharmacy Operator partners with the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to manage all aspects of home infusion pharmacy operations. This includes ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing financial performance, and leading a skilled healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with expertise in pharmacy operations, sterile compounding, and team management.

Responsibilities

Partner with the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to manage daily pharmacy operations, including prescription processing, sterile and non-sterile compounding, inventory control, and delivery logistics.

Ensure compliance with USP and all applicable state and federal regulations.

Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve workflow efficiency and patient safety.

Oversee procurement processes, maintain optimal inventory levels, and manage vendor relationships.

Create and manage the pharmacy budget, focusing on cost-effective practices and profitability.

Monitor KPIs and financial metrics to guide strategic decisions.

Collaborate with billing and reimbursement teams to ensure accurate and timely claims processing.

Maintain all required licenses, accreditations, and certifications, ensuring readiness for audits and inspections.

Implement quality assurance programs to monitor and enhance service delivery.

Stay current on regulatory changes and update policies and procedures accordingly.

Work with the PIC to recruit, train, and supervise pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Assist with performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship.

Promote interdepartmental collaboration to ensure cohesive and efficient patient care.

Share responsibility with the PIC for delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care, including patient counseling and therapy monitoring.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans.

Address patient concerns and feedback to continuously improve the patient experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business or a healthcare-related field.

Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in healthcare; experience in home infusion or specialty pharmacy strongly preferred.

Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage budgets and track KPIs.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s preferred in business or a healthcare-related field.

Board certification in a relevant specialty area.

Experience with accreditation processes (e.g., ACHC, URAC).

Knowledge of sterile compounding and compliance with USP and standards, as well as home infusion best practices.
