Registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy (KBOP) required within 30 days of new hire if not previously registered as a pharmacy technician in KY. Must renew registration with KBOP on day one if lapsed and must keep registration in good standing and renew annually.
Physical Requirements
May include standing, sitting, or walking for greater than 5 hours at a time.
May require the ability to reach items above or below shoulder level.
May be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Shift:
Primarily Monday through Friday, 7am-5:30pm
Job Summary Assists pharmacists in medication preparation and distribution at UK Specialty Pharmacy. Fills prescriptions and packages orders for delivery in a busy retail-based pharmacy setting. Requires attention to detail, excellent customer service, reliability, punctuality, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Requires attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. This position also requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate and be understood in the English language.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Preferred Education / Experience
One year previous work experience (preferably in a related field) is preferred.
Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field.
Hired candidate must maintain registration with the KY Board of Pharmacy.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
General chemistry knowledge, basic algebra, and proficient reading/writing/speaking in English are preferred.
