Summary:
These positions may be filled for a six‑month seasonal period, but can vary due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding.

Duties The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the performance of clerical and technical work that is associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations collected from the public under the authority of Federal laws and regulations such as the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA).
The incumbent performs assignments in accordance with all regulations governing the handling of government funds and separation of duties.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship required.
Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
Depending on location, government housing may be available.
You may be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
You may be required to work on‑call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and/or shift work.
You may be required to travel overnight away from home occasionally.
You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
You will be required to operate a government or private motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver’s license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State‑sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver’s licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old or, if 16‑17, meet one of the following: (a) Have graduated from high school or obtained a certificate equivalent to a high school diploma; (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part‑time during the school year under a formal student employment program.
Qualifications All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement—12/23/2025—unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Specialized Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS‑06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as the following: assisting with resolving fee program planning issues; assisting with identifying fee program/project needs; assisting with hiring, supervising, scheduling and managing others involved in fee collection and visitor orientation programs; resolving software issues that arise in the remittance and/or fee collection process; and leading others in fee collection duties. You must include hours per week worked. Please also include the grade level of any federal positions.
Volunteer experience, including paid and unpaid work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations, is considered qualified experience and will receive credit.

Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Physical Demands This position may require standing for long periods of time, as well as walking, bending, lifting of moderately heavy items. Mental stress and physical fatigue occur due to the high volume of personal contacts and the responsibility of dealing with large amounts of money. If applicable, extreme physical exertion may be required while performing search and rescue, wildland firefighting, and other emergency response duties.
Work Environment This position typically works at an entrance station, campground office, fee office, remit office, visitor center, and/or visitor contact station. Work may be frequently performed in small, outdoor structures with open windows which results in exposure to extremes of temperature, rain, snow, wind, and direct sunlight. Park areas may be geographically located in areas of high elevation, rugged terrain, or dense populations. High levels of vehicle noise and emissions may exist during heavy visitation periods. Duties may be performed alone and/or in isolated locations.
