Trades Generalist – Hutchings Psychiatric Center (P26006)
Base salary: $50,425.00 – $61,548.00 per year (based on skills & experience).
Duties As a Trades General, you will perform journey‑level work in one trade, and skilled and semi‑skilled level work in other trades on the repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities and equipment. You may supervise others in maintenance, repair, installation and construction activities.
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in assigned crafts.
Working knowledge of applicable standards and plumbing/electrical code regulations.
Knowledge of rules and regulations governing State wards.
Fundamental skills in using the tools, machines, equipment and material of the craft.
Ability to train and supervise others.
Ability to plan and lay out work and diagnose problems.
Ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams, architectural blueprints and specifications.
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Required Skills/Responsibilities
Mechanical (HVAC), carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, masonry, locksmith.
Provide field supervision to staff addressing facility maintenance and construction.
Follow written and verbal instructions, project plans, and schedules.
Possess working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
Work independently, performing moderate to heavy manual labor.
Climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platforms, and in confined spaces.
Demonstrate adherence to OSHA safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications Four (4) years of full‑time experience in a skilled journeyman trade equivalent to apprenticeship training, or apprenticeship training or technical courses in a trade replaced on a year‑for‑year basis.
Background checks will be required.
